Using combined methodology from Orff, Kodaly, and Suzuki, MusicFirst Kids is unique in its holistic approach to a child's musical development here in Belfast. In our student-centred environment, we emphasize process over performance – comprehensive understanding rather than just “getting the answer right.” Our students are engaged by music in an age-appropriate, socially accepting environment - encouraging growth in cognitive learning, language and literacy, social cooperation, critical thinking, and self-confidence.
Classes are conducted in our vibrant, designed for purpose facility on Botanic Ave. that has been packed with an extensive range of classroom instruments and resources. Parents can relax in the waiting area and take the opportunity to observe the class or nip out for a bit... there's plenty to do.
MusicFirst Kids is run by award winning and fun-loving educator, Ms. Becca Hopkins. With her in-depth musical knowledge and genuine connection with the children, she creates an energetic classroom by bringing music off the page and turning it into a holistic experience. A vetted and qualified music teacher, she is a "Pied-Piper" of exceptional quality. The children love her enthusiasm, her contagious love of music, and the personal attention they each receive.
