MFNI's Music FUNdamentals classes include music literacy and aural training with a fun and comprehensive syllabus full of movement, puzzles, games, and memorable characters!
This weekly complement to individual instrumental / vocal tuition focuses on music theory and writing. It is an action-packed class that covers material up to ABRSM Grade 5 Theory with progressive and colourful Dr. Mozart workbooks (into ABRSM Discovering Music Theory Grades 4 & 5) , vocal and instrumental ensemble work (following Orff Pedagogy), plus movement and listening games that nurture aural skills, sight-reading and composition / arranging!

FUN Grades
ABRSM Discovering Music Theory Grades 4 & 5, ABRSM Sight Singing Grades 3 – 4
- Practical use of Grade 5 theory in arranging and composition

- Writing and arranging for Orff Ensemble (understanding voicings and voice leading)
- Understanding & using ornamentation
- Music in Context: history of music and evolution of instruments as well as the language of musicians (expression terminology)
